La Paz: A City of Charm and Nature
La Paz is the capital of Baja California Sur, a state in northwestern Mexico that borders the Gulf of California, also known as the Sea of Cortez.

The city was founded by Jesuit missionaries in 1720, but they abandoned it after 30 years due to the harsh climate and native resistance.

La Paz has a laid-back, old-world charm, with a waterfront promenade that showcases international art and restaurants, and a historic plaza with colonial architecture.

La Paz is a gateway to natural wonders, such as the Espiritu Santo Island, a UNESCO biosphere reserve, and the Magdalena Bay, a sanctuary for grey whales.
