Why people love it
- Historically promoted as one of the safest and calmest towns in Mexico, with very low violent crime and a tight-knit multigenerational community.
- Strong community feel, walkable center, great marine environment; often called the “un-Cabo.”
But…watch the developments
- Recent traveler chatter mentions more cartel-related violence in 2025, even if it’s mostly targeted and not aimed at tourists/expats.
- Real-estate outlook remains positive and relatively stable, but for a family relocation I’d treat Loreto as “high-potential but monitor closely”.
